Drug testing follows a five step process that is a legally binding procedure done on forensic forms. Cut - off levels determine the result of the donor, negative, or positive. These cut- off levels are set in such a way, that it prevents false positives and negatives from becoming a result. Each test done also uses an adulterant strip to check the PH, Specific Gravity, Creatinine, Glutaraldeyde, Nitrite, and detect adulterants such as Bleach, Pyridinium Chlorochromate, and other oxidants.

Specimens are collected, split into two vials, which are dated and initialled by the donor. This prevents cases of tampering by any of the party’s involved in the process. If the tamper evident seal placed on the top of lid of the specimen is broken, not initialed by the donor, or the date of test on the bottle is incorrect, the specimen will be considered invalid due to tampering, or fatal flaws and not tested.

Audio grams are performed using a sound booth, which you see this lady sitting in, and an audiometer which calculates and displays the results for the audio technician who will interpret the results.

This is what a sound booth looks like from the outside. The persons hearing that is being tested would sit inside the booth, the audiometer outside the front window calculates the persons responses to different hertz frequency of pitch's, calculates it and then displays a result of numbers for the audio technician to graph, plot, interpret, and explain to the donor.

Just as common as drug testing has become, ways to cheat urine drug tests have also come to be just as prevalent. Collectors use factors such as , appearance, colour, odour, reaction when shaken. With every test done the collector not only uses a drug panel to test for drugs, but an adulterant strip similar to a urinalysis strip that measures PH, Specific Gravity, oxidants, and adulterant, nitrates and glutaraldehyde to detect if the specimen given is real, or synthetic urine.
